Dorothy Must Die

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

Symbiosis:
I didn't ask for any of this. I didn't ask to be some kind of hero.

But when your whole life gets swept up by a tornado—taking you with it—you have no choice but to go along, you know?

Sure, I've read the books. I've seen the movies. I know the song about the rainbow and the happy little blue birds. But I never expected Oz to look like this. To be a place where Good Witches can't be trusted, Wicked Witches may just be the good guys, and winged monkeys can be executed for acts of rebellion. There's still the yellow brick road, though—but even that's crumbling.

What happened?

Dorothy. They say she found a way to come back to Oz. They say she seized power and the power went to her head. And now no one is safe.
My name is Amy Gumm—and I'm the other girl from Kansas.
I've been recruited by the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked.
I've been trained to fight.
And I have a mission:
Remove the Tin Woodman's heart.
Steal the Scarecrow's brain.
Take the Lion's courage.
Then and only then—Dorothy must die!

Review:  5/5 Worlds

This has been on my TBR list for maybe a month now. I just... wow. I couldn't wait to get this, and I really liked the plot idea. Dorothy gone evil, sounded cool! Then I read it. First, I was surprised at how bulky the book was. I expected it to be big, but woah, it was big. Like... A Book Thief Big. Like... Harry Potter #4 Big! Can I just say how much I love Amy, next? Amy was really spunky, and I think we can all understand how frustrated she is. I love how the author made her so she's like, "Oh, let's just go kill her, I'm totally on board!" Because seriously, who's like that?! And all the plot twists and wondering who's good or evil is quite exciting! Now, I really just want to say this, so here it is: I saw reviews and people said it was slow. Maybe there was a few parts, like when she was in the jail, but for most of it, I found it exciting. Maybe I'm weird, but I'm quite sure they're the weird ones! :P Now, Dorothy. Just.... Dorothy... I don't know. Anyway, Dorothy really grew up! Like, when did her red slippers become stilettos?! Anyway, I do think she was a little too gaudy, and her attitude. Oh my. She turned into one of the girls from Mean Girls! Anyway, she's pretty evil, and she kills a lot of people. It scares me how much she's changed, and Glinda too! I love the characters, and just how Oz had changed! Anyway, in the end I was all like:

And it was like... Oh wait.... No! She's still alive! Well there better be a sequel! I want to read it!! In a little Oz world, Natasha
